Senior Cloud Engineer

Position Summary

The Senior, Cloud Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing enterprise cloud infrastructure to support global business operations. This senior-level role leads cloud strategy execution, ensuring high availability, security, and scalability of cloud environments. The Senior Cloud Engineer provides L3/L4 support for complex cloud infrastructure challenges and serves as a technical advisor for cloud adoption and automation initiatives. Additionally, they collaborate with IT leadership to develop and implement cloud governance frameworks, mentor junior engineers, and drive innovation in cloud architecture and security.

This role is an office-based position, on a hybrid schedule, working at least four times weekly from the office. Our ideal candidate will work from our location in West Palm Beach, FL. 

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience). 
• Minimum 7+ years of experience managing cloud infrastructure in Azure or AWS. 
• Strong knowledge of Windows server administration. 
• Strong experience with Microsoft 365 administration, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, and Intune. 
• Expert in cloud-based identity and access management (IAM) solutions, previous experience in complex conditional access strategy implementation
• Strong understanding of networking, security, and cloud architecture principles. 
• Experience in networking design and SASE platform integration with cloud architecture
•  Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus. 
• Exposure to Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools is a plus.
• Knowledge of cloud cost optimization strategies. 
• Excellent problem-solving skills and service orientation. 
• Strong customer focus with a proactive, solutions-driven mindset. 

Main Responsibilities

• Deploy, configure, and maintain cloud environments (Azure, AWS, or relevant).
• Automating and optimizing CI/CD pipelines for system provisioning and application deployment using Azure DevOps. 
• Support business initiatives by providing guidance, architecture and hands on implementation for cloud application deployment.
• Migrate and maintain web applications, servers and apps in Azure, ensuring scalability and performance.
• Ensure high availability, performance, and security of cloud-based services. 
• Manage and support Office 365 & Azure Cloud technologies, including Exchange Online, SharePoint. 
• Mobile Device Management using Intune.
• Administer and maintain cloud-based identity and access management (IAM) solutions.
• Manage our SASE platform and maintain Cloud/On Premise network connectivity.
• Develop automation scripts using PowerShell and Azure Automation for cloud provisioning, scaling, job automation and monitoring. 
• Implementing infrastructure as code (IaC) practices using tools like Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates or Bicep.
• Support DevOps initiatives by integrating automation into deployment and maintenance processes.
• Work on proactive performance tuning and resilience improvements. 
• Design efficient Azure spend strategy, staying align with yearly budget commitment.
• Implement and maintain security measures, including firewalls, access controls, endpoint security, and patch management. 
• Enforce cloud security best practices, including identity and access management, encryption, and compliance standards. 
• Conduct regular security assessments and risk mitigation activities in collaboration with the IT Security team. 
• Ensure best practices and security standards are applied across Azure cloud environments.
• Provide L3 support across the cloud and infrastructure layers, troubleshooting cloud-related incidents and service requests.

Main Responsibilities Continued

• Maintain IT-related documentation, including work instructions, SOPs, and procedures. 
• Collaborate with various IT groups and business teams to implement and maintain technical solutions globally. 
• Support and mentor junior IT team members. 
• Develop and test plans to ensure the continuity of critical business functions. 
• Minimize information loss by maintaining effective backup and recovery solutions for cloud environments.
