Position Summary

An Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) is responsible for the efficient maintenance support of Beech King Air 350 aircraft for the East Sale B300 Program, and other aircraft, as may be authorised from time to time, by the Quality Manager or Responsible Manager . The AME is expected to work with general supervision as required during the execution of various duties relevant to the Certificate IV. The AME shall be conversant with all Company procedures, processes, policies, and workplace protocols relevant to Airworthiness. The AME shall always maintain workplace confidentiality.

Main Responsibilities

  • Be dedicated to exceeding the customers’ expectations and delivering an efficient operation, whilst maintaining a safe environment.
  • Ensure that scheduled and unscheduled maintenance is carried out in accordance with CAMO approved Technical Data using approved parts supplied from approved sources.
  • Only undertake tasking that the member has been trained and authorised to carry out IAW the procedures laid down in the Maintenance Organisation Exposition (MOE).
  • Assist in support of Flight Line maintenance crews to maximise aircraft safety and availability.
  • Ensure that all maintenance is correctly and appropriately documented.
  • Direct enquires to the LAME, Operations Manager or other authorised delegate when enquiries are items that are beyond the scope of an AME and/or the approved procedures, processes and policies.
  • Carry out scheduled and unscheduled maintenance at the general direction of LAMEs or other authorised delegates.
  • Ensure compliance with all AD’s, SBs, etc. prior to expiry of compliance and relevant to the aircraft.
  • Assist to carry out inspection and maintenance co-ordination and certification.
  • Assist to ensure all entries and certifications for work undertaken is completed and certified;
  • Ensure all data, release notes and certificates of conformance for components and parts used during servicing or maintenance are accompanying the respective work sheet/work package.
  • Actively participate in the Quality and Safety Management System applications.

Main Responsibilities Cont.

  • Ensure FOD control procedures are adhered to.
  • Ensure OH & S/WHS requirements are adhered to.
  • Ensure GSE is serviceable and report any defects or deficiencies.
  • Ensure Approved Maintenance Data used is current and applicable.
  • Ensure Tool control requirements are adhered to.
  • Assist with defect analysis and investigations.
  • Carry out aircraft washing and associated corrosion control inspection.
  • Carry out aircraft towing and repositioning.
  • Carry out aircraft refuelling.
  • Carry out aircraft marshalling in accordance with standard aviation industry signals.
  • Work with the Quality and Aviation Safety Manager in the maintenance of Quality and Aviation Safety responsibilities including participation in audits, technical investigations as it applies to ‘Human Factors in Maintenance’.
  • Work with the Crew Leaders to foster a sense of ‘Safety First’ within the technical workforce.
  • Maintain good relationships with the customer.
  • Report and raise any observations, through the appropriate process, with regard to continuous improvement, safety management and customer satisfaction.

Minimum Requirements

  • Certificate IV in Aeroskills (Mechanical, Structures, or Avionics).
  • Competent in knowledge for Part 145 Regulatory obligations.
  • Good English language skills.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Common courtesy and customer orientation.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules and in various weather conditions as well as meeting minimum physical requirements of the job.

Work Environment

The employee must be able to work in both a heavy maintenance environment and in upscale customer areas. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate with occasional high volume when aircrafts arrive/depart. The employee is frequently exposed to vibration. Occasional fuel fumes may permeate the workplace. Employee must be willing and able to work in all types of weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The Hangar environment may be extreme hot and cold during certain seasons of the year.
