Position Summary
The Vehicle Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing scheduled and un-scheduled maintenance and support of all mechanical equipment used by operations to serve customer needs. This includes a full range of handling services such as aircraft pushback and the safe operation of Ground Support Equipment (GSE).
Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
- 2 to 4 years of experience in basic automotive and truck repair.
- Proficient in following schematics, pneumatics, and technical manuals without supervision.
- Capable of reading and interpreting safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance manuals, and procedural documents.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with in a team environment.
- Good interpersonal and communications skills, demonstrating common courtesy and conscientiousness.
- Basic computer proficiency, including familiarity with MS office applications.
- Flexibility to work varied schedules and in diverse weather conditions, meeting the physical demands of the role.
- Commitment to high-quality standards and a strong customer service orientation.
- Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure.
- Must be able to obtain an airport driver’s badge within 30 days from date of hire.

Main Responsibilities
- Oversee the maintenance of ground support equipment on the flight line, adhering to established operating procedures.
- Ensure the safe operation of the vehicle maintenance shop as well as for the vehicles undergoing maintenance.
- Manage fuel farm inventory and operations efficiently.
- Order parts for ground vehicles and apply knowledge of vehicle maintenance and preventive maintenance practices.
- Learn and maintain ground power units and their systems.
- Acquire and maintain skills to service aviation refuelers while applying knowledge of quality control procedures and techniques for aviation fuels.
- Possess or be trainable in basic DC electrical systems.
- Comply with all airport policies, applicable laws, and regulations while maintain positive customer relations.
- Represent Jet Aviation as one company internally and externally with industry groups, regulatory bodies and the General Dynamics network.
Work Schedule and Compensation

- We formally operate 24 hours daily, 7 days weekly.
- THIS SHIFT will be the initial assignment, with the potential for changes over time as our business needs and opportunities evolve.
This role is an on-site based position. Our ideal candidate will work from our location in Teterboro, NJ. The posted salary ranges will default to that of your regional location and will not include any premiums. The baseline range for this exempt position will be as follows: $50,000 - $71,000 plus a performance-based bonus up to 5% of annual salary.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds over their heads. Visual requirements include, close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust and focus.
The work environment includes both heavy maintenance areas and upscale customer spaces. Noise levels are generally moderate but can become loud during aircraft arrivals and departures. The employee is frequently exposed to vibration and occasional fuel fumes. The role requires the ability and willingness to work in all weather conditions. Seasonal temperature extremes in the hanger environment may include both very hot and cold conditions.
