Position Summary

• We formally operate 24 hours daily, 7 days weekly.
• The successful candidate must be flexible and available to work nights, weekends, holidays, overtime, emergency callouts, and schedule changes based on operational, safety, staffing, weather, or business needs. 

The posted salary ranges will default to that of your regional location and will not include any premiums. The baseline range for this non-exempt position will be as follows: $29.00-$31.00 hourly, plus a performance-based bonus up to 5% of annual salary.    

Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma/GED required; technical, mechanical, aviation-fueling, or related training preferred.
• Two years of related experience in aviation fueling, petroleum handling, fuel quality, industrial operations, equipment maintenance, or a related field preferred. Equivalent training and experience may be considered.
• Experience with fuel receipt, sampling, testing, storage, transfer, inventory, inspections, and fuel-quality procedures.
• Lead, trainer, or senior technician experience, including work direction or coaching, preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of fuel tanks, pumps, valves, filters, meters, loading systems, fuel trucks, and safety equipment.
• Ability to follow procedures, checklists, supplier requirements, inspection standards, and safe-work practices.
• Ability to maintain accurate records, perform inventory calculations, identify variances, and use NDX or other approved systems.
• Sound judgment and attention to detail, including the ability to stop unsafe work, remove equipment from service, and report contamination, leaks, abnormal conditions, or other safety concerns.
• Ability to prioritize work, coordinate assignments, communicate expectations, and coach team members.
• Clear English communication skills and ability to work effectively with internal teams, suppliers, vendors, drivers, and airport representatives.
• Proficiency with standard business, inspection, inventory, scheduling, communication, and recordkeeping systems.
• Must be at least 18 years old, hold a valid driver’s license, and meet company and airport driving requirements.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain an Airport ID Badge, airport driving privileges, required fuel-quality qualifications, and company certifications.

Main Responsibilities

• Coordinate shift activities, assign priorities, monitor progress, and provide clear work direction within delegated authority.
• Participate in fuel receipt, sampling, testing, storage, transfer, inventory control, and equipment inspections.
• Verify required opening, shift, closing, safety, environmental, and quality-control inspections.
• Monitor tank levels, fuel deliveries, transfers, inventory reconciliation, and investigate or escalate discrepancies.
• Inspect tanks, piping, pumps, valves, meters, filters, fuel trucks, containment areas, and related safety equipment.
• Identify unsafe conditions, stop work when necessary, remove questionable equipment from service, and promptly escalate concerns.
• Review and maintain accurate electronic and paper records, including fuel receipts, testing, inspections, maintenance, and inventory documentation.
• Support preventive maintenance, filter inspections, equipment checks, spill response, emergency activities, and vendor coordination.
• Provide hands-on training, task demonstrations, and coaching to Fuel Farm Technicians.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and FOD-free work environment with properly stored and serviceable PPE and spill-response materials.
• Complete thorough shift handoffs covering fuel status, equipment condition, open issues, staffing, safety, and quality concerns.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

The physical demands and work-environment characteristics described below are representative of those an employee must meet and encounter to perform the essential functions of this position. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle or feel, reach, bend, and communicate. The employee is frequently required to climb stairs or ladders and may occasionally kneel, crouch, or work in restricted-access areas. The role requires frequently lifting or moving up to 25 pounds and occasionally lifting or moving up to 50 pounds, including tools, hoses, parts, supplies, and spill-response materials.

This position requires close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee must be able to access Fuel Farm systems, vehicles, tanks, containment areas, and fueling equipment and wear all required personal protective equipment. The employee works in Fuel Farm, maintenance, ramp, and outdoor environments with exposure to aircraft, moving vehicles, machinery, noise, vibration, weather, and occasional fuel fumes. Employees must be willing and able to work in seasonal heat, cold, rain, snow, and other changing weather conditions.
