Position Summary

The Ground Support Agent – Catering is responsible for delivering exceptional 5-star service by ensuring the accurate, timely, and professional preparation and delivery of catering and related service items to aircraft at the Fixed Base Operator (FBO) in Teterboro, NJ. This role plays a critical part in creating a seamless and elevated experience for passengers and crew by coordinating catering orders from receipt through aircraft delivery while maintaining the highest standards of presentation, cleanliness, food safety, and operational efficiency.

 

The ideal candidate takes pride in delivering outstanding service, works effectively as part of a team, and consistently follows all food safety, sanitation, airport, FBO, and company procedures while contributing to a polished and welcoming customer experience.

Minimum Requirements

  • Associate degree in Hospitality or a related field, or 2–3 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Experience in the aviation industry or a related field, such as hospitality, is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of computer skills such as MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Ability to remain calm and perform effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. 
  • Demonstrated cultural awareness and sensitivity when working in diverse environments. 
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.

  • Ability to obtain an airport ID badge within 30 days of employment.

Main Responsibilities

  • Welcome and assist passengers and crew arriving at and departing from the FBO, providing exceptional 5-star service throughout the FBO, ramp, and street-side areas.
  • Provide proactive, professional concierge-style service, respond to customer requests, and coordinate with internal teams to ensure a seamless customer experience.
  • Receive, inspect, organize, and prepare catering items, beverages, equipment, and supplies according to flight requirements, client specifications, and quality standards.
  • Prepare accurate, complete, properly presented, and clearly labeled catering orders for aircraft delivery.
  • Coordinate timely delivery and pickup of catering orders, equipment, and service items to and from aircraft.
  • Wash, label, organize, and properly store aircraft dishes, glassware, utensils, and reusable service items.
  • Prepare and organize snacks, plants, flowers, and other specialty items based on customer, crew, and flight requirements.
  • Coordinate customer requests and support internal teams to facilitate efficient arrivals, departures, and aircraft servicing.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and sanitary catering, storage, FBO, and work areas.
  • Follow all company, airport, FBO, food safety, sanitation, security, and operational safety procedures.
  • Maintain knowledge of Jet Aviation services and offerings and communicate available services to customers as appropriate.

  • Maintain knowledge of local and regional hotels, dining, transportation, entertainment, and events to support customer and concierge requests.
  • Manage multiple catering orders and time-sensitive customer requests efficiently in a fast-paced, high-service environment.
  • Communicate professionally with passengers, crew, flight departments, vendors, and internal teams to consistently meet service expectations.
  • Maintain a professional appearance, positive attitude, and service-focused approach while representing the FBO and Jet Aviation.
  • Work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, holidays, and varying shifts based on operational needs.

Work Schedule and Compensation

Aviation operates on a dynamic schedule—things can change fast, and our success depends on team members who can adapt. We are looking for team members who thrive in a dynamic, around-the-clock operation and are open to working a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the operation, customers, and crews.

 

  • We formally operate 24 hours daily, 7 days weekly.
  • The 2nd shift (afternoon 3 pm - 11 pm) will be the initial assignment, with the potential for changes over time as our business needs and opportunities evolve.
  • Training for this role is expected to last approximately 4–6 weeks. During the training period, hours may differ from the assigned shift listed based on operational and training needs. Once initial training is successfully completed, you will transition to the assigned shift.

 

The posted salary ranges will default to that of your regional location and will not include any premiums. The baseline range for this non-exempt position will be as follows: $21 - 23 hourly which is equivalent to $43,000 - $47,000 annually, plus a performance-based bonus up to 5% of annual salary.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, including overhead. Specific vision abilities required for this role include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. 

 

This position requires the ability to work in both upscale customer-facing areas and active operational environments. The employee may be exposed to moderate to loud noise levels, particularly during aircraft arrivals and departures. The role also involves frequent exposure to vibration and occasional fuel fumes. 

 

Employees must be willing and able to work in all types of weather conditions. Hangar and ramp environments may involve exposure to extreme hot and cold temperatures depending on the season.
