Position Summary

As we continue to grow, Jet Aviation is seeking a seasoned and strategic Employment Counsel (internally: Assistant General Counsel) to serve as the in-house Subject Matter Expert (SME) on U.S. labor and employment law. This role is ideal for an experienced employment law attorney with a proactive, partnership-oriented mindset who is interested in a broad and visible role in our organization.


In this position, you’ll provide legal guidance on labor and employment issues, ensuring compliance with federal and state laws while developing and implementing company policies and best practices. You will guide HR and leadership teams through high-impact employee relations matters. You’ll play a key role in developing strategies to minimize risk and avoid litigation disputes. You’ll partner closely with HR and leadership teams on litigation matters and manage outside counsel.


While your primary focus will be advising on employment- related matters, this is a position with high growth potential. As such, you will also support commercial contract negotiations, corporate governance, and compliance matters, contributing to the legal team’s broader scope. We are looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is driven by the nuances of employment law, and wants to play a central role in shaping workplace strategy and culture.


Our ideal candidate will work full-time from either of our locations in West Palm Beach, FL (Palm Beach Lakes area) OR Teterboro, NJ at the Teterboro airpark. The baseline range for this exempt position will be based on your regional location: $180,000 - $210,000, plus a performance-based bonus up to 10% of annual salary.

Your Profile

You are an expert labor and employment attorney with a strong foundation in employment law, compliance, and litigation. You take a proactive approach to legal challenges, offering strategic guidance and practical solutions. You have the confidence to handle complex employment matters independently while also collaborating with key stakeholders. You bring:

  • A Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and bar membership
  • 7-12 years of experience dedicated to labor and employment law matters in the U.S.
  • A strong mix of in-house and law firm experience is preferred—offering a practical, business-minded approach grounded in deep legal training.
  • Deep knowledge of federal and state employment laws (e.g., Title VII, ADA, FLSA, FMLA)
  • Experience advising on hiring, terminations, workplace policies, and internal investigations
  • The ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines with precision and efficiency
  • A track record of sound judgment and problem-solving in high-stakes situations
  • California labor and law experience a plus

Your Role

You’ll serve as the company’s lead legal advisor on all U.S. labor and employment-related legal matters at Jet Aviation, including wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage and hour, and whistleblower claims. You will ensure compliance with all relevant laws and shaping the company’s employment policies. You’ll collaborate closely with HR and leadership to provide proactive legal guidance, helping to mitigate risk and prevent employment-related issues.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Investigating potential employment law violations, gathering documents, interviewing witnesses, and recommending appropriate resolutions.
  • Representing Jet Aviation in legal proceedings such as administrative hearings, mediations, and court hearings related to employment disputes.
  • Drafting and reviewing key employment-related agreements, including contracts, non-disclosure agreements, and severance agreements, ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
  • Managing outside counsel for employment-related disputes and legal matters, ensuring that Jet Aviation’s best interests are represented.
  • Continuously monitoring developments in employment law and applying new insights to influence policies and strategies.
  • Supporting the broader legal team with corporate governance, commercial litigation, and compliance issues as needed.
