Position Summary
The Assistant Manager - RCC is responsible for the leadership, performance, and daily oversight of Jet Aviation Teterboro's Ramp Communications Center. This role ensures accurate and timely coordination of aircraft arrivals, departures, parking, fuel orders, service requests, towing requirements, and other operational needs across a 24-hour FBO.
The Assistant Manager leads the RCC Supervisor and RCC Coordinators and serves as a key operational link among Line Service, Customer Service, the Fuel Farm, GSE, Catering, Transportation, Customs/CBP, airport stakeholders, flight crews, tenants, and vendors. This position establishes consistent procedures, communication standards, training expectations, and accountability practices that protect service continuity and reduce the risk of missed or delayed services.
The Assistant Manager is expected to lead by example, maintain situational awareness, make sound decisions during high-volume and irregular operations, and represent Jet Aviation professionally in alignment with company policies, procedures, and values.
Work Schedule & Compensation
Aviation operates on a dynamic schedule, and flight activity, customer requirements, weather, and airport conditions can change quickly. The successful candidate must be able to support a flexible, around-the-clock operation and adjust working hours when necessary to maintain leadership coverage and operational continuity.
Jet Aviation Teterboro formally operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week. This position may require evenings, overnights, weekends, holidays, emergency callouts, and additional coverage during peak traffic, severe weather, special events, ground stops, ramp congestion, or other irregular operations.
The posted salary ranges will default to that of your regional location and will not include any premiums. The baseline range for this non-exempt position will be as follows: $38.00 - $41.00 hourly which is equivalent to $79,040 - $85,280 annually, plus a performance-based bonus.
Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required; an associate or bachelor's degree in aviation management, business management, logistics, communications, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent education and relevant experience may be considered.
- Five or more years of progressively responsible experience in FBO operations, ramp coordination, flight operations, aviation customer service, dispatch, Line Service, or a closely related aviation field.
- Three or more years of supervisory or leadership experience in a safety-sensitive, customer-focused, or time-critical operation.
- Working knowledge of general aviation operations, aircraft arrivals and departures, ramp parking, towing coordination, fuel ordering, and aircraft service requirements.
- Experience using aviation operational systems and electronic recordkeeping platforms such as FBO One, NDX, or comparable systems.
- Demonstrated ability to manage high-volume radio traffic, phone calls, emails, service requests, operational records, and competing priorities with accuracy and professionalism.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to communicate effectively with employees, senior leaders, customers, tenants, flight crews, airport representatives, and vendors.
- Demonstrated ability to lead employees, establish priorities, manage multiple workstreams, and maintain operational accountability with limited supervision.
- Experience developing procedures, conducting training, managing shift handoffs, reviewing performance, and implementing corrective actions.
- Proficiency with standard business software, radio systems, email, scheduling tools, and electronic aviation operations platforms.
- Must be at least 18 years old, possess a valid driver's license, and maintain a driving record that meets company and airport requirements.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain an Airport ID Badge, applicable airport driving privileges, and all required company qualifications.
- Ability to work flexible hours, perform duties during high-volume and irregular operations, and meet the physical requirements of the position.

Main Responsibilities
- Provide daily leadership, direction, and accountability for the Ramp Communications Center, including direct oversight of the RCC Supervisor and RCC Coordinators.
- Establish RCC staffing plans, work priorities, performance expectations, and completion timelines to support a continuous 24-hour aviation operation.
- Support scheduling, timecard review, overtime management, time-off planning, recruitment, onboarding, coaching, performance reviews, and employee development in coordination with senior leadership and Human Resources.
- Maintain adequate staffing and qualified coverage based on flight volume, workload, special events, weather, and anticipated operational demand.
- Develop, implement, and maintain standardized RCC procedures, training requirements, communication protocols, service-coordination practices, and accountability standards.
- Conduct or oversee shift briefings and handoffs to ensure incoming personnel receive accurate information regarding aircraft activity, parking constraints, open service requests, fuel orders, towing requirements, safety concerns, and unresolved follow-up items.
- Oversee the coordination of aircraft arrivals, departures, PPRs, parking assignments, hangar movements, towing requirements, flight schedules, and aircraft service needs.
- Maintain an accurate operating picture of transient and tenant aircraft, ramp capacity, hangar availability, scheduled movements, arrival and departure priorities, and expected customer requirements.
- Lead the transition and ongoing management of fuel coordination and aircraft-service communications within the RCC to ensure continuity, efficiency, and accountability.
- Ensure fuel orders, service requests, and operational changes are accurately entered, confirmed, monitored, updated, and closed in FBO One, NDX, and other applicable systems.
- Manage high-volume air-to-ground and internal radio communications, telephone calls, emails, electronic messages, and in-person operational requests in a clear, professional, and timely manner.
- Ensure communication equipment and air-to-ground radios are used correctly and that communication failures or deficiencies are promptly reported and resolved.

- Serve as the primary management point of contact for RCC communications and provide timely direction regarding operational priorities, management directives, and service requirements.
- Coordinate staffing, equipment, aircraft movement, parking, and service priorities with Line Service shift leadership and ramp teams.
- Coordinate fuel-order status, fuel availability, priority fueling, and changes with the Fuel Farm and applicable Line Service personnel.
- Coordinate customer and crew requirements with Customer Service, including catering, transportation, baggage, lavatory, potable-water, GPU, and other requested services.
- Coordinate equipment availability and operational support with GSE personnel and third-party vendors when required.
- Coordinate customs, CBP, TSA, international-arrival, and other special-movement requirements with the appropriate internal and external stakeholders.
- Communicate known airport restrictions, ground stops, closures, traffic-management initiatives, construction impacts, and other operational information to affected teams.
- Coordinate deicing activity, severe-weather response, lightning suspensions, snow-event priorities, diversions, and other weather-related operational requirements.
- Lead RCC response during peak traffic, ramp gridlock, parking constraints, delayed flights, diversions, irregular operations, and other high-pressure conditions.
- Support safe ramp-capacity decisions by communicating parking limitations, prioritizing movements, escalating conflicts, and coordinating recovery plans with operational leadership.
- Monitor RCC performance indicators, including missed or delayed services, communication errors, response times, service completion, staffing coverage, overtime, customer feedback, and operational disruptions.
- Investigate service failures, missed communications, inaccurate orders, delays, customer concerns, and other RCC irregularities; identify root causes and ensure corrective actions are documented and completed.
- Support JetSafe and the Safety Management System through hazard identification, risk assessment, incident reporting, investigation support, and corrective-action follow-up.
- Maintain accurate RCC records, shift logs, service documentation, communication records, reports, checklists, and other required operational documentation.
- Provide senior leadership with timely status updates, operational-risk summaries, performance trends, staffing concerns, service failures, and recommended solutions.
- Develop contingency plans for radio or telephone failures, system outages, staffing shortages, weather disruptions, ramp congestion, fuel-service interruptions, and other operational emergencies.

Employees must be willing and able to work in all weather conditions when operational duties require ramp access.
