Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our finance team. In this role, you will lead and manage the full accounts payable cycle, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices, vendor statement reconciliation, and vendor payments. You will also collaborate closely with internal departments and external vendors to resolve discrepancies, improve processes, and drive efficiencies. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in accounts payable, excellent analytical skills, and a continuous improvement mindset.
As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will be a key contributor to our financial operations, offering insights for optimization and maintaining compliance with accounting standards. This hybrid role, working at least three times weekly from our Teterboro, NJ office. The posted salary ranges will default to that of your regional location and will not include any premiums. The baseline range will be as follows: $52,000 – 62,000 per year.
Minimum Requirements
• Education—Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent work experience, or additional certifications.
• Professional Level—3 years of hands-on accounts payable experience, along with detailed experience and deep understanding and functional use of Excel.
• Technical skills—Experience with ERP and Business Intelligence tools, along with a willingness to develop expertise in these systems.
• Knowledge—strong understanding of accounts payable best practices.
• Problem Solving—Ability to identify incomplete or inaccurate data, identify root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan proactively with little supervision.
• Compliance and Controls: Ensure high level of accurate record-keeping and assist in maintaining compliance with internal controls.
• Communication Skills—Ability to compose concise, simplified verbal and written descriptions of complex issues, supported by detailed analysis
• Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams internally and externally on key projects, providing support and analysis to drive process improvements

Main Responsibilities
• Process vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner, with minimal supervision. Reviews, interprets and applies policies and procedures.
• Develop customer excellence with suppliers and internal business partners through problem-solving, networking, analysis, and other interactions.
• Actively participate in ongoing system evaluations and enhancements.
• Recommend and/or initiate process improvement opportunities around the AP processes to guarantee invoices are paid accurately and on time
• Support month-end close activities, including reports and account reconciliations.
