Position Summary

As an EHS Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing and monitoring Safety, Health & Environment (SHE/WSH) compliance across JSIN MRO and FBO operations. You will ensure full compliance with MOM Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) and environmental regulations, as well as maintain all required statutory documentation in an up-to-date and audit-ready condition.

Main Responsibilities

  • Act as the appointed Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO) for JSIN and serve as Secretary to the JSIN Safety Committee. Plan, organise, and conduct safety committee meetings, including preparation and distribution of meeting minutes, and follow up on all action items.
  • Lead investigations into workplace incidents, injuries, and environmental-related matters. Prepare comprehensive investigation reports and ensure timely closure of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Conduct and manage return-to-work interviews in coordination with HR, providing support as required.
  • Ensure all Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) equipment within JSIN facilities are properly maintained and fully operational, including first aid kits, emergency eyewash and showers, AEDs, and other safety equipment.
  • Oversee permit-to-work systems, including Working at Height, Confined Space, and Hot Work activities. Review contractor risk assessments and approve relevant permits within JSIN facilities.
  • Develop and deliver WSH and environmental training programmes, including induction training and other mandatory safety training. Manage training schedules, prepare materials, conduct sessions, and coordinate external training requirements supporting MRO and FBO operations.
  • Ensure all safety procedures, processes, and documentation remain compliant with current MOM WSH and environmental regulations.
  • Conduct risk assessments and hazard identification (HIRA), and ensure appropriate control measures are implemented.
  • Promote a strong safety culture by driving WSH and environmental awareness initiatives through communications, campaigns, notices, and events.
  • Provide guidance and advisory support to JSIN management on updated WSH and environmental regulatory requirements.
  • Lead and support WSH and environmental initiatives as directed by the Director of Quality Assurance, EHS and Security.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
  • Certified and registered Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO) under MOM.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in an aviation MRO environment.
  • Experience in delivering training and conducting presentations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage complex issues.
  • Good influencing and communication skills.
