Position Summary

At Jet Aviation, quality is more than a process—it is the foundation of safe, reliable, and exceptional business aviation. As a Quality Assurance Inspector, you will help protect the standards behind every aircraft, customer experience, and maintenance activity we support.

 

In this role, you will provide experienced quality and regulatory oversight across maintenance operations. You will conduct audits and conformity inspections, evaluate processes, review technical documentation, monitor airworthiness compliance, and provide practical guidance to maintenance teams, designees, outsource maintenance providers, and authorized personnel. Your work will help ensure that aircraft maintenance activities are completed accurately, consistently, and in accordance with applicable FAA regulations and Jet Aviation procedures.

 

This is an opportunity for an aviation professional who combines technical judgment with a strong service mindset. You will be trusted to identify areas of concern, communicate them clearly, influence effective remediation, and help teams continuously improve without losing sight of the operational realities of a busy maintenance environment.

 

The position follows a daytime schedule and is structured as a hybrid role, with employees working from the office four days per week. Scheduling details may vary based on departmental needs.

 

The anticipated annual base salary range is between $80,000–$100,000, depending on experience, industry tenure, and location. This position will be based at our Scottsdale, AZ location.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in an aviation-related field from an accredited institution.
  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant certificate.
  • Approximately five to seven years of professional aviation experience.
  • At least three years of audit experience.
  • Knowledge of applicable 14 CFR requirements, including Parts 1, 21, 25, 43, 65, 91, 125, and 135.
  • Knowledge of FAA processes and aviation quality assurance practices.
  • Experience leading functional or cross-functional initiatives.

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and methods that evaluate and improve the quality of products, processes, components, and maintenance operations.
  • Conduct conformity inspections, quality audits, and records reviews while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Provide regulatory guidance to maintenance teams and stakeholders on FAA requirements, company policies, and applicable manuals.
  • Review inspection and maintenance documentation to help ensure accuracy, proper formatting, airworthiness release, and return-to-service compliance.
  • Monitor assigned maintenance activities for compliance with airworthiness directives, mandatory or alert service bulletins, and related closure requirements.
  • Provide training and practical guidance to designees, outsource maintenance providers, and authorized personnel.
  • Coordinate with computerized maintenance tracking program vendors to support accurate, timely updates and alignment with regulatory and industry best practices.
  • Represent Jet Aviation professionally with internal teams, industry groups, regulatory bodies, and the General Dynamics network.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Inspection Authorization certificate.
  • Experience providing regulatory guidance, training, or mentoring to maintenance personnel.
  • Experience with computerized maintenance tracking programs, airworthiness directives, service bulletins, or aircraft operational documents such as MMEL, MEL, CDL, and NEF.

Work Environment

The employee must be able to work in both a heavy maintenance environment and in upscale customer areas. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate with occasional high volume when aircrafts arrive/depart. The employee is frequently exposed to vibration. Occasional fuel fumes may permeate the workplace. Employee must be willing and able to work in all types of weather conditions.  The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The Hangar environment may be extreme hot and cold during certain seasons of the year.
