Field Service Representative (FSR) for Royal Air Force of Oman (RAFO) – 4 x 429 aircraft on operation, 5 x B429 on advanced flight training and 4 x B206B for basic flight training
Period of performance will be for a total of three years. Start date Q3 2025
Job Description/Responsibilities
- The primary responsibility for this job is to provide technical assistance to the RAFO maintenance officers at Khasab, Masirah and Salalah bases in Oman for their fleet of Bell helicopters.
- The selected individual(s) must be capable of operating independently of direct supervision for decision-making and day-to-day activities. Must be willing to be flexible working hours, based on the needs of customer for aircraft maintenance and support, this does not include vacation periods. Frequent travels might be required based on helicopters location(s).
- Must have a strong customer service mindset, with the ability to positively impact customer perception of care, attention, and satisfaction. Customer satisfaction is the primary focus of this position and is expected to translate to customer loyalty to the Bell brand.
- Expected to work closely with various Bell and Jet Aviation departments worldwide including Product Support Engineers (PSE), Customer Support Engineers (CSE) and other Customer Services and Solutions (CSS) individuals/departments as required to provide world-class technical support to RAFO.
- Must ensure the customer receives timely responses and positive solutions using the various Bell and Jet Avaition resources available to them.
- Provides a direct link for the customer to Bell / Jet Aviation support including technical assistance, aircraft operational guidance, logistical assistance, on job training (OJT), sales and aftersales support.
- Must ensure the thorough execution of the Corrosion Control Guide
- Must assist RAFO maintenance and support staff in understanding Bell requirements and how to carry out the maintenance tasks contained in the Bell/vendor publications. No regular hands-on mechanic/engineer work is required nor does the position require signing off or certifying the customers aircraft maintenance.
- Relocate and be based out of Salalah Oman
Technical Support:
- Consult on customer technical issues to maintain, repair, and upgrade aircraft.
- Conduct expert troubleshooting to minimize aircraft down time.
- Develop and conducts formal presentations on maintenance-related topics for the customer (e.g. corrosion prevention, rotor track and balance, human factors, technical updates, etc.)
- Assist with Bell aircraft maintenance/movements during company-sponsored demonstrations and shows in country of assignment or elsewhere if needed.
Sales/Aftersales Support:
- Consult the customer on appropriate spare parts and volumes to purchase
- Establish relationships between the regional Bell salesperson, Bell aftersales representative and the customer, ensuring a positive relationship develops and that future opportunities are identified, understood, and pursued professionally.
- Act as a technical expert to assist salesperson conducting sales demonstration in the field.
- Provide other sales support as required.
Logistics Support:
- Consult the customer on appropriate warranty cases, spare parts ordering processes, shipments, RMA, proper customs paperwork preparation, shipment tracking etc.
- Provide assistance on incoming parts and goods inspection coming from Bell, jet Aviation or other vendors supporting Bell aircraft operation with customer.
- Provide assistance with proper preservation procedures before parts shipment and also storage procedures and re-preservation intervals for parts in stock.
OJT:
- Provide on job training during the assignment to ensure maintenance tasks are fulfilled in accordance with current Bell maintenance manual procedures.
- Help to develop or develops syllabus for OJT in according to customer needs and with coordination with regulatory authority (if applicable).
Administrative Support:
- Interface with customer on warranty-related matters to ensure warranty policy and guidelines are being followed (preventative maintenance, corrosion protection programs, FOD procedures etc.)
- Assist with scheduling of classes at the Bell Training Academy for foreign entities, and course translation as needed
- Collect Bell fielded aircraft data, which allows Bell to make decisions on spares sales, service offerings, and new business development
Qualifications:
- At least 5 years of hands-on Bell helicopter maintenance experience.
- Holds a regulatory body certification such as an FAA or EASA (or equivalent) Airframe and Powerplant license or avionics license
- Candidate must read, write, and speak English fluently
- Candidate must be able to work with computer and associated software to fulfill duties
- Must be able to travel with short notice and on weekends as needed.
- Must possess driving license and have/obtain local driving license endorsement – depend on country of assignment
- Must be eligible to obtain a work permit in the Sultanate of Oman
- Must be physically capable to work on and around aircraft in demanding environments.
- Must be able to climb ladders, lift up to 25 lbs above head, crawl under aircraft, and work in various weather environments.
- If not already 429 type rated, must pass required 429 maintenance training courses at the Bell Training Academy prior to in-country assignment.
