As a Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (LAME) - Avionics, you will ensure the safe, compliant, and efficient maintenance of aircraft and training systems align with Jet Aviation, NZDF, and CAA requirements.
This is a hands on opportunity to work in a dynamic, mission-critical environment, where your technical avionics expertise, commitment to safety, and passion for aviation excellence make a real impact every day.
Your Annual Salary Package will start from NZD$95,000 - $125,000p.a + Kiwi Saver + Relocation Assistance
Your Responsibilities
Reporting to your Team Leader, you will:

Supervise and Certify Maintenance – Perform, supervise, and release maintenance to service on the 42SQN King Air fleet in full compliance with CAA and NZDF standards.

Mentor and Support Staff – Guide and support AMEs and apprentices in their training and professional development.

Maintain Compliance and Records – Ensure all maintenance data, tools, and materials are approved, up to date, and properly documented.

Promote Safety and Quality – Contribute to Jet Aviation’s Safety Management System, uphold WHS and environmental standards, and actively engage in continuous improvement initiatives.

Report and Respond – Promptly identify and report any conditions that may impact airworthiness or safety, and support technical investigations as required.

What Will Help You to Succeed
Minimum Requirements:
-
Current CAA NZ Part 66 Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Licence (Avionics) with appropriate ratings.

Strong understanding of the Civil Aviation Act, Rules, and Advisory Circulars.

Knowledge and experience using Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills.
-
High attention to detail and commitment to confidentiality.
Desired Characteristics:

Knowledge of New Zealand Defence Aviation Regulations (advantageous).

Understanding of ISO9001 / ISO45001 systems.

Customer service and safety-oriented mindset.

Results-driven with strong initiative and accountability.

Able to foster teamwork, learning, and high technical standards.
Physical and Work Environment:

Ability to perform physical tasks including standing, kneeling, bending, and handling tools.

Comfortable working in variable weather and hangar conditions with exposure to noise, vibration, and aircraft environments.
