Position Summary
Join our team for a 6-month Master thesis internship to support our commitment to upholding stringent certification standards which is vital to delivering high-performance aerospace solutions. We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented intern to develop a comprehensive methodology for defining a Fatigue Load Spectrum, supporting Fatigue Life and Crack Growth Analysis across a range of aircraft types (from small private jets to widebodies).
This role provides hands-on experience with advanced engineering software and real-world challenges in structural simulation and certification. You will be part of a dynamic, multi-cultural team dedicated to innovation, technical excellence, and continuous improvement.
Your Role
- Defining a representative target mission profile.
- Deriving load factor exceedances using dedicated references (ESDU 69023, AFS120-73-2, etc.).
- Validating the methodology against actual load spectra.
- Generating spectra for relevant aircraft models and benchmarking them against the current company standards
- Develop and implement tools using VBA and/or Python, as required.
- Perform comparative analyses of different load application strategies and assess the influence of key parameters on structural response.
- Deliver insights and recommendations for further refinement of the methodology and its future application in certification and design processes.
Your Profile
- Currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Knowledge of aircraft structures, particularly on fatigue and crack propagation.
- Experience with Python and VBA is welcome.
- Proactive, analytical, and quality-oriented approach to engineering problems.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Fluent in English; Spanish is a plus.
