Position Summary
Join our team for a 6-month Master thesis internship to support our commitment to upholding stringent certification standards which is vital to delivering high-performance aerospace solutions. We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented intern to support the automation of aircraft structural loads application, with a focus on developing a Python script to generate Nastran code for fuselage GFEMs using only geometrical parameters and automating the load application approach.
This role provides hands-on experience with advanced engineering software and real-world challenges in structural simulation and certification. You will be part of a dynamic, multi-cultural team dedicated to innovation, technical excellence, and continuous improvement.
Your Role
- Develop and implement a Python script to automate the generation of Nastran code for fuselage global finite element models (GFEM) based solely on geometrical input.
- Explore and devise methods to automate the application of critical loads per fuselage section, leveraging existing internal tools.
- Integrate aircraft geometry, mass distribution, aerodynamic, performance, and dynamic characteristics to estimate load factors along fuselage stations for various load cases, including limit, ultimate, and failure scenarios.
- Perform comparative analyses of different load application strategies and assess the influence of key parameters on structural response.
- Deliver insights and recommendations for further refinement of the methodology and its future application in certification and design processes.
- Validation of the methodologies and tools.
Your Profile
- Currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Foundation in aircraft loads, flight mechanics, and aircraft structures.
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as EASA CS-25 is an advantage.
- Experience with Python, FEMAP, and/or NX Nastran is beneficial.
- Proactive, analytical, and quality-oriented approach to engineering problems.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Fluent in English; Spanish is a plus.
What We Offer You
- A structured, hands-on internship experience in the aviation environment.
- Mentorship from experienced engineers and exposure to cutting-edge engineering tools who will guide and support your development.
- The chance to contribute to meaningful, real-world projects.
