Position Summary

As Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer at Jet Aviation you will be working as part of a dedicated maintenance team and will be responsible for successfully carrying out a variety of maintenance tasks on an aircraft in accordance with Jet Aviation procedures and aviation regulations. You will be operating under the Jet Aviation Part 145 approval, the Jet Aviation Health and Safety policy, customer requests and other airworthiness requirements.

Main Responsibilities

  • Perform un-scheduled & scheduled maintenance tasks: You will be responsible for performing scheduled maintenance tasks on aircraft as per the manufacturer's guidelines, MOE and maintenance schedule in lie with regulatory requirements. This will include inspecting, repairing, and replacing parts, systems, and components. You will need to be proficient in using tools and equipment for this purpose.
  • Executes and oversees aircraft inspections, modifications, maintenance tasks, repairs, within license scope.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose issues: you will need to have strong technical knowledge and problem-solving skills to diagnose issues with aircraft systems and components. This will require you to perform various tests, use diagnostic equipment, and analyse data to identify the root cause of issues.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements: As a Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring that all maintenance activities comply with regulatory requirements, including airworthiness directives, service bulletins, and other maintenance requirements. You will need to keep up-to-date with the latest regulatory requirements and standards and ensure that all maintenance activities are carried out accordingly.
  • Maintain accurate records: You will be responsible for maintaining accurate records of all maintenance activities, including maintenance schedules, work performed, and parts used. This will require you to use computerised maintenance management systems and ensure that all records are up-to-date and easily accessible.
  • Communicate with other maintenance personnel, pilots, and management: As part of your role, you will need to communicate effectively with other maintenance personnel, pilots, and management to ensure safe and efficient aircraft operation. You will need to be able to explain technical issues in simple terms and work collaboratively to resolve any problems.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment: You will be responsible for maintaining a safe and clean work environment, including compliance with safety regulations and policies. You will need to ensure that all tools and equipment are properly maintained and that all work areas are clean and free of hazards.
  • Provide technical guidance: As a Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical guidance and support to other maintenance personnel. You will need to be able to explain complex technical concepts in simple terms and provide guidance on best practices for aircraft maintenance.
  • Ensures safety and product quality at all times.
  • Ensures the timely and accurate recording of work executed on the aircraft.
  • If needed, executes and oversees off-base aircraft projects without local supervision.
  • Supports Aircraft Maintenance Supervisors in coordinating with and functionally overseeing Technicians to execute tasks.
  • Other duties as may be required from time to time in order to ensure operating and business success. 

Minimum Requirements

  • Mechanical/technical apprenticeship (preferably in aviation or related field)
  • Valid license holder without limitations (Part 66 B1 and/or B2 or FAA A&P other relevant aircraft technician license (as per local requirements)
  • A minimum of two business-relevant Aircraft type ratings (as requested by the business and authorized by Quality/Safety & EHS function)
  • Intermediate level English, min. B2 level/ able to communicate, read and understand maintenance tasks in English manuals
  • Additional specific knowledge, skills, abilities & other characteristics as required in the relevant MOE desirable.
  • Strong communication skills to exchange technical information
  • Ability to effectively and efficiently manage priorities of the job
  • B737NG/MAX type ratings advantageous

Work Environment

The employee must be able to work in both a heavy maintenance environment and in upscale customer areas. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate with occasional high volume when aircrafts arrive/depart. The employee is frequently exposed to vibration. Occasional fuel fumes may permeate the workplace. Employee must be willing and able to work in all types of weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The Hangar environment may be extreme hot and cold during certain seasons of the year.
