Position Summary

We are seeking a motivated Aircraft Engineering Intern to join our team. The position provides practical exposure to aircraft maintenance operations within a professional aviation environment. Under supervision, the incumbent will support basic engineering and administrative tasks, assist with maintenance documentation and workshop activities, and gain hands-on exposure to aircraft systems, inspections, troubleshooting, and aviation regulatory compliance. The role also includes participation in safety briefings, operational meetings, and technical learning sessions to support professional development in aviation maintenance and engineering operations.

Main Responsibilities

  • Support day-to-day aircraft maintenance operations under the guidance of licensed engineers and supervisors
  • Assist in the preparation, filing, and organization of maintenance documentation and technical records
  • Observe and support non-certifying maintenance activities in the workshop and hangar environment
  • Assist with tool control, parts handling, and general housekeeping of work areas
  • Observe aircraft inspections, troubleshooting, and component removal/installation activities
  • Support engineering teams with basic administrative tasks, technical research, and data compilation
  • Participate in safety briefings, operational meetings, and training sessions
  • Learn and comply with aviation safety standards, company procedures, and regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with team members and provide support for assigned operational activities as required

Minimum Requirements

  • Current Year 12 student enrolled in a secondary school or sixth form college
  • Minimum age of 17 years old at the commencement of the internship
  • Demonstrated interest in aviation, aircraft maintenance, or aerospace engineering
  • Good academic standing, particularly in Mathematics and Physics
  • Professional attitude with a willingness to learn and follow instructions
  • Good attention to detail and awareness of safety requirements
  • Strong personal values corresponding with Jet Aviation values (Trust, Honesty, Alignment, Transparency)

Work Environment

The employee must be able to work in both a heavy maintenance environment and in upscale customer areas. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate with occasional high volume when aircrafts arrive/depart. The employee is frequently exposed to vibration. Occasional fuel fumes may permeate the workplace. Employee must be willing and able to work in all types of weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The Hangar environment may be extreme hot and cold during certain seasons of the year.
