Position Summary
Jet Aviation is seeking an experienced and highly professional Lead Captain to oversee a dedicated Gulfstream G650 operation based in Hong Kong.
This position combines operational leadership with active flight duties and serves as a critical link between Jet Aviation, the flight crew, and the client. The Lead Captain is responsible for promoting operational excellence, fostering a high-performing team culture, and ensuring seamless communication and collaboration among all stakeholders.
The Lead Captain plays a pivotal role in maintaining the highest standards of safety, service, professionalism, and client satisfaction. The successful candidate will lead by example, supporting crew development, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement while ensuring full alignment with Jet Aviation’s values and operating standards.
While the role carries leadership and managerial responsibilities, it does not supersede flight deck authority. For each flight, the designated Pilot-in-Command (PIC) retains full operational command and authority in accordance with applicable regulations and company procedures.
In addition to leadership responsibilities, the Lead Captain is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the aircraft and serves as a professional ambassador of Jet Aviation at all times.
Main Responsibilities
Leadership & Client Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the Client’s Office, ensuring effective communication and service delivery.
- Lead and support crew recruitment, development, and performance management.
- Foster a positive, collaborative, and professional team culture.
- Mentor newly appointed Lead Captains and support crew integration.
- Collaborate with Flight Operations, Crew Planning, and Client Aviation Services to ensure seamless operations.
Operational Oversight
- Oversee crew training, scheduling, and annual leave planning.
- Review and approve aircraft-related expenses, invoices, and crew expense claims.
- Support complex trip planning and operational decision-making.
- Monitor aircraft documentation, regulatory approvals, and operational compliance.
Flight Duties
- Ensure the safe and efficient operation of the aircraft at all times.
- Maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements, company procedures, and the Flight Operations Manual (FOM).
- Ensure passenger, crew, and aircraft safety throughout all phases of flight.
- Maintain accurate operational records and submit reports as required.
- Uphold the highest standards of professionalism as a representative of Jet Aviation.
Minimum Requirements
- Valid FAA or EASA Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL) or equivalent.
- Current Gulfstream G650 Type Rating.
- Demonstrated experience operating the Gulfstream G650.
- Flight experience and currency sufficient to meet all regulatory and operational requirements for commercial operations.
- Proven leadership experience within a corporate, business aviation, or managed aircraft environment.
- Strong interpersonal, stakeholder management, and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with high-profile clients and senior internal stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, make sound operational decisions, and maintain composure in a dynamic operating environment.

Work Environment
The employee must be able to work in both a heavy maintenance environment and in upscale customer areas. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate with occasional high volume when aircrafts arrive/depart. The employee is frequently exposed to vibration. Occasional fuel fumes may permeate the workplace. Employee must be willing and able to work in all types of weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The Hangar environment may be extreme hot and cold during certain seasons of the year.
