Position Summary

The Technical Manager is accountable for the day to day supervision of the RBIH workshop as directed by the General Manager. 

Minimum Requirements

  1. Minimum experience of 10 years sheet metal/ composite repairs
  2. Basic knowledge of aircraft maintenance
  3. People leadership skills in an operational environment
  4. Relationship Management with the influence to achieve results from employees
  5. Experience working in an aviation repair facility at senior technician level
  6. Demonstrate understanding of aviation regulatory requirements

Main Responsibilities

 

Quality, Safety and Environment

 

  1. Ensure the work carried out by RBIH Middle East is conducted in compliance with company policies and procedures
  2. Provide input to responses to audit findings of internal and external audits and take action as directed on remedial and corrective actions against audit findings and corrective action requests.
  3. Provide input into the development and revisions of company procedures for continuous improvement.
  4. Actively participate, comply and promote Jet Aviation OH&S and Environment programs and Aviation Safety Management System

 

People Leadership

 

  1. Daily performance supervision of the Blade Technicians and Paint Technicians providing clear directions, feedback, guidance and support for the work allocated to them
  2. Supervision of allocated manpower and resources to ensure timely completion of blade repairs within customer and company expectations.
  3. Provide the necessary technical training for technicians and painters
  4. Develop an effective culture and value-based philosophy within the organisation which places the importance on the customer.

 

Commercial Management

 

  1. Daily supervision and control of priorities within the facility based on customer, regulator, OEM and commercial requirements
  2. Weekly review of workload to proactively support planning for future/upcoming work scheduling to ensure resources are available for timely completion of projects
  3. Ensure spare parts are ordered at correct timeframe to meet project deadlines whilst maintaining appropriate inventory levels
  4. Review job packs for assigned projects and ensure they are complete and reflect customer requirements and support RBIH Middle East financial objectives

 

Sales and Customer Management

 

  1. Accountable for feedback to the General Manager on work progress
  2. Organise and complete field repairs at customer facilities as required
  3. Provide input into response to customer queries and complaints

 

Regulatory and Compliance 

 

  1. Ensure work performed on rotor blades is conducted in compliance with the UAE GCAA, EASA, FAA and additional regulatory regulations.
  2. Updating knowledge on regulatory requirements

 

KEY CHALLENGES (& CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTORS):

  1. Actively support and participate in the Jet Aviation core values and safety, security and environment policies and procedures as detailed in the Jet Aviation Governance and Polices Manual.
  2. Shared responsibility of receiving inspections (with Production Manager)
  3. Blade work packs and log card entries are completed in compliance with regulatory and customer requirements.
  4. Ensure work performed on blades is carried out in compliance with company policies and procedures, OEM procedures and Civil Aviation Regulations.
  5. Review and updating of technical data
  6. Compilation of new worksheets and updating of old
  7. Implement remedial action to correct rework situations.
  8. Compilation, submittal and administration of expanded repairs
  9. Regular audit of project documentation to ensure accuracy and integrity of data. Provide input into to customer queries and/or complaints

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate with occasional high volume when aircrafts arrive/depart. The employee is frequently exposed to vibration. Occasional fuel fumes may permeate the workplace. Employee must be willing and able to work in all types of weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The Hangar environment may be extreme hot and cold during certain seasons of the year.
