Position Summary

The Senior Maintenance Manager is responsible of PTS Pt145 Maintenance Organisation operations within contract CASG/ASD/030/2015/S

Main Responsibilities

  • Responsible Manager (DASR Pt145) for PTS ESL maintenance organisation
  • Leadership of PTS Pt145 at East Sale providing clear directions and decisions for activities conducted at those facilities including alignment to customer expectations and meeting financial, regulatory and compliance targets.
  • Primary responsibilities:
    • DASR Pt145 compliance
    • PTS ESL Fleet Management
    • Risk & WHS Management
    • Meeting PTS ESL tasking within bounds of the PTS contract thereby achieving Key Performance Indicators of the PTS contract
    • Primary focal point for PTS ESL
  • Liaise with Pilatus engineering, CAM Services staff and operational staff at PTS ESL to maintain an effective & efficient business operation that meets the contractual obligations.
  • Work closely with the Program Services Manager and the other PTS SMMs to maintain the overall PTS Part145 safety, quality and performance priorities.
  • Proactively participate in and continually promote the Safety Management System.
  • Leading, coaching and developing employees to ensure maintenance performed in the facility is conducted in compliance with relevant company policies, procedures and industry regulations.
  • Maintain a strong and positive working relationship with all stakeholders.
  • Promoting positive staff engagement.
  • Operating and managing delegated budgets.

Minimum Requirements

  • Hold or able to attain Chartership (CPEng, CEngT, CEngA) with the Institute of Engineers Australia or equivalent.
  • Meet DASA qualification and experience requirements for the position of Responsible Manager.
  • Ability to interpret and apply military airworthiness regulations, processes and procedures.
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure environment with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrable staff management and large team leadership experience.
  • Previous maintenance management experience.
  • Effective communication including excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Effective prioritisation and time management skills.

Desired Characteristics

  • Sound understanding of DASA airworthiness regulations (or equivalent)
  • Significant technical experience within the Australian Defence or General Aviation industry, such as extended experience as a B or C Category MAML and/or Form4 holder
  • Experience within an operational maintenance environment
  • Strong personal values corresponding with Jet Aviation values (Trust, Honesty, Alignment, Transparency)

The employee must be able to work in both a heavy maintenance environment and in upscale customer areas. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate with occasional high volume when aircrafts arrive/depart. The employee is frequently exposed to vibration. Occasional fuel fumes may permeate the workplace. Employee must be willing and able to work in all types of weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The Hangar environment may be extreme hot and cold during certain seasons of the year.
