Aircraft Maintenance Specialist

 

Summary:

As an Aircraft Technician with Corporate Flight Operations, you will work in a state of the art facility with a team of aviation professionals performing scheduled and un-scheduled maintenance on Corporate G500s to ensure the aircraft are supported and maintained in an airworthy condition.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities In this role you will be:

• Responsible to the Maintenance Manager for performance of aircraft maintenance.

• Perform quality maintenance, preventive maintenance and inspections to conform within

company standards, federal regulation and industry best practices achieving the highest

reliability goals.

• Accomplish assignments in accordance with the Code of Federal Regulations, industry best

practices, OSHA, and ICAO requirements.

• Responsible for ensuring airworthiness as defined within 14 CFR by researching permanent

records, maintenance tracking program, FAA Airworthiness Directives and Manufacturer’s

Service Bulletins and Customer Bulletins on aircraft.

• Maintain a safe work environment and reports any unsafe conditions.

• Troubleshoot reported mechanical discrepancies and handle complex technical challenges.

• Ensure all required entries into the aircraft logbooks and permanent records are accurate and

preserved in accordance with company and FAA requirements.

• Update and interface with computerized maintenance tracking program.

• Responsible for the procurement and receiving of parts and materials.

• Responsible for the cleanliness of the aircraft and facility.

• Encouraged to proactively provide recommendations for modifications and upgrades, as

necessary.

• Other duties may be assigned, as needed.

• You may also have external maintenance monitoring responsibilities with third party vendors

and contractors.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.

Education, Experience and/or Requirements:

• FAA Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic (A&P) current/active certificate required.

• Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in aviation maintenance; five (5) of those in the

corporate aviation environment on Gulfstream or similar type of aircraft- GVII experience a plus.

• May be required to be 21 years of age, have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

and must pass a pre-employment drug test.

• Must be able to obtain a Dulles (IAD) Airport ID.

• Must also be able to pass a required FAA 10-year background check.

• Two (2) years of college or equivalent technical training, in related field, preferred.

• Inspection Authorization (IA) desired.

• Shall maintain technical proficiency by attending company directed and funded training on

aircraft specific systems, and regulatory requirements.

• Must be willing and able to work flexible schedules as required to accommodate corporatedriven flight schedules.

• Maintenance support of the aircraft may require travel both domestic and international.

• Be able to fly as additional crewmember and be trained in FAA Approved Cabin Evacuation

procedures.

• Able to communicate effectively and accurately with supervisor, corporate personnel, vendors

and other internal departments.

• Ability to travel internationally, including valid passport.

• Must live within a reasonable, commutable driving distance from the Flight Operations.

• Must be fully COVID-19 vaccinated by start date unless medical or religious exceptions apply.

Language Skills:

Since English is the language of aviation, must be able to read, write and speak the English language

fluently and possess the ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical

procedures and governmental regulations.

Mathematical Skills:

Must possess the ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, proportions, percentages,

area, circumference, and volume.

Computer Skills:

Operational knowledge of laptop and desktop computers, working knowledge of Word, Excel,

PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat or related presentation programs. Operational knowledge of Outlook is

required.

Experience with computerized maintenance tracking software programs is desirable.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve technical and practical problems and deal with a variety of intangibles in situations

where only limited communication, support, information and access exists. Ability to interpret a variety

of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
