Position Summary


Are you passionate about driving quality in a highly regulated, safety-critical industry?

We are looking for an experienced and quality-focused SCM Supplier Quality Manager to lead supplier quality assurance across our European aviation supply chain. Based in Basel, you will ensure that all materials, components, and services from external suppliers meet the highest standards for safety, compliance, and performance—directly supporting our Maintenance, Refurbishment, and Completions projects in private aviation. This role is essential in maintaining supplier qualifications, conducting audits, managing non-conformities, and driving supplier development initiatives.

Your role

 

  • Supplier Quality Leadership: Develop and implement quality policies and standards aligned with external and internal requirements.
  • Audits & Qualification: Lead supplier assessments and qualification processes, ensuring compliance and capability.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track and manage key quality KPIs such as defect rates, on-time delivery, and CAPAs.
  • Issue Resolution: Lead structured investigations of supplier non-conformities and drive effective root cause analysis.
  • Supplier Development: Collaborate with vendors to improve quality systems, documentation, and performance—especially for strategic or high-risk suppliers.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with Procurement, Engineering, Production, and Quality teams to reduce risk and harmonize quality standards.
  • Compliance & Documentation: Ensure proper documentation, approvals, and traceability to meet regulatory and internal standards; support audits and inspections

Your profile

 

  • Degree in Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, or a related technical field
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in supplier quality or quality assurance in aviation or aerospace
  • Proven experience in supplier audits, root cause analysis, and supplier improvement initiatives
  • Understanding of aviation supply chains, traceability requirements, and documentation standards 
  • Knowledge of EASA Part 145/21, FAA regulations, and AS/EN standards is a plus
  • Certified Lead Auditor (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100, EN9120) is a plus
  • Fluent in English; additional European languages are an advantage
  • Familiarity with SAP or other ERP systems and quality tools (e.g., 8D, FMEA, SPC) beneficial
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills to collaborate across internal teams and with external suppliers
  • Willingness to travel internationally
