Position Summary

For our procurement team in Basel, we are looking for a passionate and results-driven Operational Purchaser ensuring our operations run seamlessly, contributing to the excellent service and quality we are known for worldwide.

Your mission

 

  • Source with Precision: Identify and procure the materials to meet our requirements (lead time, price, quality)
  • Process Purchase Orders: Efficiently manage and process timely purchase orders, ensuring all details are accurate
  • Monitor on-time deliveries: Follow the deliveries of supplier to secure projects, and engage lead time negotiations when necessary
  • Master SAP Data: Maintain and update purchasing data in SAP, including delivery dates, discounts, prices, and order acknowledgments
  • Communicate efficiently with stakeholders: Foster strong, daily interactions with internal stakeholders. Provide data analysis such as price comparison, delivery status.
  • Supplier relationship management: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure service quality, resolve issues, and collaborate on continuous improvement.
  • Issue resolution: Address and resolve day-to-day problems related to purchasing challenges involving supplier invoices, delivery, or quality.
  • Continuous improvement: Propose ideas of improvement such as new suppliers, automation, new way of working
  • Act as a team player: Support purchasing team to succeed  
  • Compliance: Ensure that all purchases adhere to established procurement procedures, contracts, and aviation requirements

Your profile

 

  • Bachelor with 2 years of experience, or a master degree in supply chain, business administration, industrial engineering
  • Exceptional communication skills in both written and spoken English. French and/or German are assets but not mandatory.
  • Proficiency in MS Office. SAP is a plus.
  • Proactive, solution-oriented mindset and a flexible, collaborative team player who can inspire and influence
  • Customer-centric personality who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment
  • Curious, outgoing and does not hesitate to ask questions and avoid misunderstandings
  • Speak-with-data mindset, precise, searching for root cause
  • Results driven individual who executes with high personal accountability
  • Readiness to work on shift pattern depending on company needs (around 7-8 weeks Saturday/Sunday shift/year)
  • Flexible, ability to manage several projects in parallel
