Paint Hangar Manager

Position Summary

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Paint Hangar Manager to lead the daily operations of our aircraft paint facility. In this role, you will be responsible for managing a large, multi-skilled team while ensuring all painting activities meet quality, safety, and regulatory standards. From scheduling and team leadership to quality control and process improvement, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality results on time and within budget. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional with a strong background in aircraft painting and team management to take on a leadership position in a fast-paced and highly technical environment.

Your role

• Oversee Daily Hangar Operations: Manage scheduling, workflow, and workforce assignments to ensure efficient turnaround and optimal resource utilization.
  
• Lead & Develop Teams: Supervise, coach, and train paint technicians, inspectors, and support staff to maintain high performance and quality standards.
  
• Ensure Regulatory Compliance: Enforce strict adherence to all applicable health, safety, and environmental standards (OSHA, EPA, FAA, etc.).
  
• Supervise Painting Processes: Oversee surface preparation, masking, priming, top-coating, and detailing to ensure flawless application and finish.
  
• Manage Inventory & Equipment: Monitor and control stock levels of paints, tools, and protective gear; coordinate procurement and inventory audits.
  
• Maintain Quality Control: Conduct inspections of completed work to verify compliance with customer specifications and internal quality benchmarks.
  
• Coordinate Facility Maintenance: Implement preventive maintenance plans for ventilation systems, spray booths, and other hangar infrastructure.
  
• Collaborate with Stakeholders: Liaise with project managers, engineering teams, and clients to ensure on-time delivery and alignment with project goals.
  
• Prepare Budgets & Reports: Develop and manage operational budgets, forecasts, and performance reports for leadership review.
  
• Drive Culture & Improvement: Promote a workplace culture of safety, accountability, continuous improvement, and excellence in customer service.

Your profile

• 5+ years of aircraft painting experience, preferably at VIP/VVIP quality standard
  
• Technical degree or equivalent professional background
  
• Strong knowledge of aircraft paint systems, application methods, and industry best practices
  
• Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and manage change across large teams (30–40 employees)
  
• Commercially minded with budgeting and cost control experience
  
• Proficient in MS Office; experience with SAP preferred
  
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, and paint specifications
  
• Fluent in English; French or German highly desirable
