Job Title: Stores Supervisor

Position Summary:

The Stores Supervisor reports to the Supply Chain Manager providing professional direction and leadership in the effective and efficient management of the Cairns Facility Stores Operation. 

Main Responsibilities:

  • Ensure control of parts and materials is conducted in compliance with Company Policies and Civil Aviation regulations for items to be utilized on VH registered aircraft or equivalent regulations for items to be utilized on foreign registered aircraft. 
  • Provide input into response to customer queries and complaints as required to enable the Managers or Maintenance Supervisors to respond to Customers to agreed timelines. 
  • Support cost-effective utilization of resources to ensure Stores / Logistics requirements are completed to agreed timelines to meet Jet Aviation Cairns targets & Customer’s expectations. 
  • Provide leadership and coordination of the Stores Team. Maintain oversight of deadlines and managing staff job allocation to ensure targets are achieved. 
  • Promote a culture of unwavering Customer focus, always aiming to exceed Customer expectations. 
  • Actively support, participate, comply with, and promote Jet Aviation WHS and Environment programs. 
  • Provide and maintain services standards to the customer. 
  • Track stock levels to ensure budgetary control is maintained. 
  • Provide input into parts ordering for assigned projects to ensure parts are available to meet scheduled delivery times. 
  • Ensure core returns are handled in a timely fashion to prevent core charges being imposed on the branch by suppliers or customers. 
  • Regular audit of stores documentation to ensure accuracy and integrity of data including annual stock take. 
  • Provide input into or respond to customer queries and/or complaints to enable Managers and Supervisors to respond to Customers. 
  • Accurately maintain records for parts and materials held in or distributed by the Cairns Facility. 
  • Manage documentation through company ERP system, ensuring records accurately reflect physical stock. 
  • Manage Inventory/Stock including but not limited to: 
    • Receipt, dispatch and tracking of stock in accordance with company policy and procedures. 
  • Parts are ordered to company policy and procedures and correct timeframes to meet job deadlines, maintaining appropriate inventory levels within MRO and Avionics. 
  • Timely return of core exchange units to supplier. 
  • Receipt of customer owned parts, raising appropriate paperwork for tracking and placement into appropriate location. 
  • Undertake reasonable duties as assigned by the Supervisor which are appropriate for the qualification and skill level 

Minimum Requirements: 

  • Impeccable attention to detail. 
  • Experience with logistics in an aircraft maintenance or similar facility. 
  • Demonstrated understanding of Aviation regulatory requirements for control of Aircraft parts and materials or ability to quickly gain this as evidenced by experience in a similar industry. 
  • Knowledge of packaging and shipping requirements for dangerous goods. 
  • Computer Literate in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Systems and Microsoft Outlook and Excel. 
  • Effective communication including excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Thorough work ethic with Strong Organizational and Leadership Skills.

  • Relationship Management skills at the inter-department level. 
  • Experience in a Customer Focused Work environment with multiple priorities and project deadlines.

Work Environment:

The employee must be able to work in both a heavy maintenance environment and in upscale customer areas. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate with occasional high volume when aircrafts arrive/depart. The employee is frequently exposed to vibration. Occasional fuel fumes may permeate the workplace. Employee must be willing and able to work in all types of weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The Hangar environment may be extreme hot and cold during certain seasons of the year.
