Position Summary
The Storeperson reports to the Stores Supervisor and is based at the Jet Aviation Australia Pty Ltd Cairns Base and is accountable for the day-to-day processing of aircraft parts and materials to meet maintenance facility requirements achieving compliant, on-time and cost-effective receipt and dispatch of materials and parts.
Main Responsibilities
- Provide effective delivery of the allocated store responsibilities in support of daily overall Stores operations.
- Ensure control and processing of parts and materials is conducted in compliance with the applicable authority regulations and Jet procedures.
- Dispatch items as required to meet deadlines for freight pick up.
- Receive and process incoming items in a timely manner.
- Distribute incoming items to either stock or material requisition demand in a timely manner.
- Ensure ordering, storage and distribution of parts and materials is conducted in accordance with Company policies and procedures.
- Store, track and manage stock within the hangar store and free issue supply.
- Coordinate return of core exchange units to suppliers to agreed timelines to eliminate fees.
- Receipt, storage, issuing and management of customer owned materials.
- Coordinate, control and tracking of sub-contract repair orders to minimize turnaround times.
- Maintain accurate records for parts and materials held in or distributed by the Cairns Base facility.
- Actively participate, comply, and promote Jet Aviation Australia Pty Ltd WH&S and Environment programs and Aviation Safety Management System.
- Maintain the Stores environment in a tidy and professional manner.
- Proactively support the needs of the hangar operations and customer requirements.
- Actively manage quarantine items as per Company procedures.
- Work with the Purchasing Officer to monitor and maintain required stock levels as per Company policy.
Minimum Requirements
- Aviation logistics or other equivalent warehousing background.
- Effective communication including excellent computer, written and verbal skills.
- Ability to work independently to achieve outcomes.

- Ability to work un-supervised and follow detailed instructions.
- Demonstrate initiative when faced with supply problems.
- Demonstrated understanding of Aviation regulatory requirements for control of Aircraft parts and materials or ability to quickly gain this as evidenced by experience in a similar industry.
- Knowledge of packaging and shipping requirements for dangerous goods.
- Forklift certificate – desirable.
- Customer / results focused.
- Self-motivated & proactive.
- Good analytical skills.

Work Environment
The employee must be able to work in both a heavy maintenance environment and in upscale customer areas. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate with occasional high volume when aircrafts arrive/depart. The employee is frequently exposed to vibration. Occasional fuel fumes may permeate the workplace. Employee must be willing and able to work in all types of weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The Hangar environment may be extreme hot and cold during certain seasons of the year.
