Your Opportunity

This is a unique opportunity to take ownership of the Quality and Compliance framework at one of our key APAC maintenance facilities.

As the subject matter expert in Quality Management Systems, you will lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of safety and compliance programs while ensuring alignment with national and international standards and regulatory requirements.

You will work closely with senior leadership, regulatory authorities, and operational teams to strengthen safety culture, ensure compliance, and drive operational excellence across the Cairns MRO.

Your Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the site audit program, including planning, completion tracking, corrective action management, and effectiveness monitoring.
  • Ensure all investigations are completed within agreed timelines, performing thorough root cause analysis and leading critical investigations where required.
  • Maintain and continuously improve the Quality Management System in accordance with international standards and aviation regulatory frameworks.
  • Act as the primary liaison with National Aviation Authorities (NAAs) on matters relating to safety and quality.
  • Promote awareness and understanding of Human Factors and Error Management across the organisation.
  • Ensure the audit program effectively monitors elements of the Safety Management System (SMS).
  • Promote a strong safety reporting culture through communication, engagement, and reporting systems across the APAC region.
  • Engage with regulatory authorities, customers, and government bodies on aviation quality and compliance matters.
  • Lead occurrence investigations relating to maintenance errors and safety events and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Provide safety updates, trends, and analysis to the Accountable Manager and senior leadership.
  • Represent Jet Aviation internally and externally with industry groups, regulatory bodies, and the General Dynamics network.

What will help you too Succeed

  • 15+ years of aviation experience, including Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) environments and multiple regulatory frameworks.
  • Eligibility for approval as Form 4 Quality Manager for applicable regulatory approvals.
  • Degree in Aviation Management, relevant technical discipline, or Licensed Aircraft Engineer qualification.
  • Expert knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems.
  • Extensive experience with CASA, FAA, and other aviation regulatory frameworks.
  • Strong expertise in Safety Management Systems (SMS) implementation and reporting.
  • Experience as a Lead Auditor and Aviation Safety Investigator.
  • Proven capability using Root Cause Analysis tools, including MEDA and HFACS.
  • Working knowledge of Workplace Health, Safety and Environmental (WHSE) requirements.
  • Experience in risk management, change management, and defence tender processes.
