Your Next Opportunity

If you are looking for a role where your purchasing, coordination and problem-solving skills can make a real impact, this could be your next step.

Jet Aviation is seeking a Procurement/Purchasing Officer to support our Cairns Base maintenance operation, helping ensure the right materials, parts and equipment are sourced efficiently and delivered on time to support critical aircraft maintenance activities.

This is a hands-on operational role with a predominant focus on purchasing. It is well suited to someone who enjoys working at pace, building supplier relationships, expediting orders and ensuring critical materials are available when needed for the business aircraft maintenance operations.

You do not need to come from a traditional aviation background to be considered. If you bring transferable experience from procurement, purchasing, logistics, supply chain, warehousing, freight, manufacturing, or another operational environment, and you are keen to learn, we would like to hear from you.

Your New Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day purchasing activities that support aircraft maintenance operations, ensuring materials are sourced cost-effectively and delivered on time.
  • Coordinate purchase orders and liaise with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure parts, materials and equipment are available when required.
  • Expedite orders and respond to urgent operational requirements in a fast-paced maintenance environment.
  • Support inventory and cost control activities, helping maintain efficiency and accuracy across the purchasing process.
  • Coordinate freight and customs activities associated with incoming materials and shipments.
  • Maintain accurate supplier and purchasing records, ensuring information is current and reliable.
  • Resolve invoice, goods receipt and supplier discrepancies in a timely and professional manner.
  • Support returns, warranty and exchange processes where required.

What You Will Gain

  • A competitive salary package of AUD $60,000 – $85,000 plus Superannuation plus Annual Performance Bonus, reflecting the value of your capability, experience and contribution within a high-performing operational environment.
  • The opportunity to build and grow your career with Jet Aviation, a globally recognised aviation organisation known for professionalism, quality and service.
  • Exposure to a highly specialised maintenance and operational environment, where your work directly supports business-critical outcomes.
  • Broader experience across purchasing, supplier coordination, freight, customs, inventory and aircraft maintenance materials, helping you strengthen both depth and versatility in your career.
  • A role that offers variety, pace and visible impact, with the chance to work closely with internal stakeholders and external suppliers in a collaborative team environment.
  • The opportunity to further develop your skills in a role that combines operational purchasing responsibility, relationship management and practical problem-solving

Why Join Jet Aviation?

  • Join a respected international organisation and become part of a collaborative Cairns-based team supporting important maintenance operations.
  • Work in a role that offers stability, team support and the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution every day.
  • Be part of a fast-moving environment where your purchasing and coordination capability will be valued and relied upon.
  • Develop specialist experience in aviation-related purchasing and supply support, even if your background comes from another industry.
  • Enjoy the opportunity to grow in a role that combines practical responsibility, stakeholder engagement and operational relevance.

Who We Are Looking For?

  • You are resourceful, dependable and confident working in a fast-paced operational environment where priorities can shift quickly.
  • You may already be working in purchasing, procurement or logistics, or you may come from a related operational role and be looking for broader career development.
  • You communicate well and build strong working relationships with suppliers, internal stakeholders and team members.
  • You stay calm under pressure and can manage competing priorities without losing attention to detail.
  • You are comfortable working with systems, data and administration tasks, and you take pride in maintaining a high level of accuracy.
  • You enjoy solving problems, thinking ahead and finding practical solutions when plans change.
  • You take ownership of your work and can operate independently while also contributing positively to a team.
  • You have experience in purchasing, supplier coordination, shipping, packaging, freight or dangerous goods requirements will be highly regarded.
  • You have exposure to invoice reconciliation, inventory control or operational support environments will also be well regarded.
