Your Opportunity

Are you a qualified Licenced Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (LAME) with experience in a supervisory or leadership role? 

As a Maintenance Supervisor you are accountable for the assigned aircraft projects and assisting with the coordination of the project’s manpower including LAME’s, AME’s and apprentices, whilst maintaining open lines of communication with the Aircraft Operations & PMO Manager. 

Your Responsibilities

  • Supervision, support, mentoring and coaching of staff supporting project/aircraft. 
  • Monitoring and mentoring maintenance employee technical capabilities.     
  • Monitor maintenance employee regulatory compliance in relation to housekeeping within the hangar. 
  • Contribute to hangar facility and general project housekeeping. 
  • Contribute towards the creation and updating of work orders in a timely manner. 
  • Contribute towards the identification and reporting of all WHS issues through Jet Aviation’s Safety Management System (JetSafe).   
  • Deliver daily toolbox meetings. 
  • Critical project milestone tracking to ensure if milestones are at risk, HOC is notified early to allow for rectification action planning. 
  • Support, mentoring and coordination of zonal coordinators, with ability to assist, if required including approval of defects. 
  • Provide support of complex parts interpretation. 
  • Work with HOC to ensure appropriate manpower allocation and ensure efficiency of work by: 
    • monitoring booking of time 
    • evaluate and approve hour estimates. 
    • monitor actual hours against ASR estimates. 
  • Accountable for managing tooling prior to and during all projects; ensuring full compliance with company/personal tool control.   
  • Ensure work orders are completed accurately in a timely manner ensuring regulatory and commercial Compliance. 
  • Accountable for monitoring and managing allocated manpower on project assigned within the facility. 
  • Accountable for monitoring maintenance employee task productivity (quoted v actual), review and action time reports daily. 
  • Monitor the coordination of non-productive time, ensuring apprentice daily/weekly tasks are c/o   
  • Monitor and address performance/behavioural matters, documenting through the file note system and escalating to the HOC, as required. 
  • Promote/lead employees with a positive attitude acting as a business advocate for Jet Aviation. 
  • Monitor and liaise with the HOC regarding any change to allocated staff numbers. 
  • Monitor spares/core exchange usage and ensure unused spares/cores are returned promptly. 
  • Monitor raised ASR’s, ensuring they are re-ASR’d including justification notes.   
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. 
  • Represent Jet Aviation as one company internally and externally with industry groups, regulatory bodies and the General Dynamics network.

What Will Help You to Succeed

  • Minimum Diploma in Aeroskills, accompanied by CASA Licence on particular aircraft within particular stream.
  • Experience in maintenance, system and modifications within an Aircraft facility of one or more of the following aircraft types: ATR, DASH 8 and Fokker preferred, with lower group experience within a Commercial Hangar Environment. 
  • Demonstrated understanding of Aviation Regulatory and Safety Requirements performing aircraft maintenance.
  • Computer literate in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and maintenance systems and Microsoft Outlook and Excel. 
  • Proven ability to work in a team environment and within limited supervision. 
  • Effective time management, and ability to be flexible within a rapidly changing environment.
  • Excellent communications, customer service and people skills 
  • Common courtesy and customer orientation 
  • Ability to work flexible schedules and in various weather conditions as well as meeting minimum physical requirements of the job.

The employee must be able to work in both a heavy maintenance environment and in upscale customer areas. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate with occasional high volume when aircrafts arrive/depart. The employee is frequently exposed to vibration. Occasional fuel fumes may permeate the workplace. Employee must be willing and able to work in all types of weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The Hangar environment may be extreme hot and cold during certain seasons of the year.
