Position Summary

A Licenced Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (LAME) is responsible for performing a broad range of aircraft maintenance and certifying within their licensing. LAME’s are required to ensure maintenance performed on assigned aircraft is carried out in compliance with company policies and procedures and regulations set by the relevant countries regulatory.

A LAME is able to certify work undertaken by allocated individuals.  At times, LAMEs may also take on the role of coordinating projects and are required to guide teams to successful operational outcomes.

Salary from AUD$94,500-$138,600 + Super + OT. The remuneration package is subject to change based on the skills, experience and relevant licence type ratings held by the applicant. 

Main Responsibilities

Compliance and Regulatory
—    Promote and drive Jet Aviation Values and Compliance Policy and Procederes to support the desired company and facility culture.
—    Accountable for general housekeeping.
—    Accountable for the creation and updating of work orders in a timely manner.
—    Accountable for the write-up and sign-off of work completed each day.
—    Accountable for ensuring that work completed and requiring sign-off by a licenced engineer is done in accordance with CASA regulations.
—    Contribute to the request and management of tooling during projects within the hangar.
—    Contribute to hangar facility and general project housekeeping.
—    Contribute towards the creation and updating of work orders in a timely manner.
—    Monitor the detail and sign-off on all work completed each day by allocated individuals
—    Contribute towards the identification and reporting of all WHS issues through Jet Aviation’s  Safety Management System (JetSafe). 
—    Ensure all paperwork is completed and issue RTS.
Maintenance
—    Supervise maintenance c/o by other individuals and certify for completion of that maintenance.
—    Mentoring maintenance employee technical capabilities.
—    Contribute to the monitoring of maintenance employee regulatory compliance.
—    Monitor the allocation of manpower to tasks within the coordinated project.
—    Monitor maintenance employee regulatory compliance in relation to housekeeping within the hangar.
—    Monitor maintenance of team member hours to job.
—    For projects LAME's are allocated, ensure engineers and maintenance employees are actively inputting time registration and notifying HOC when time is not being booked to projects.
—    Communication with Maintenance Supervisor is thorough, professional and on time to assist with progress updates with customers.
—    Monitoring and mentoring allocated individuals technical capabilities.
—    Other duties as may be required from time-to-time in order to support team and operational success.

 

Main Responsibilities Cont.

Providing assistance to Aircraft Coordination 
—    Hands on administrative role covering production planning and document control, ensuring all paperwork is signed off progressively against the master checklist as it is completed.
—    Communicate daily with tech records to review the master checklist and ensure both parties are up to date 
—    Deliver daily tool box meetings.
—    Critical project milestone tracking to ensure if milestones are at risk, HOC is notified early to allow for rectification action planning.
—    Support, mentoring and coordination of zonal coordinators, with ability to assist if required including approval of defects.
—    Provide support of complex parts interpretation.
—    Ensure the handover process is implemented.
Work with HOC to ensure appropriate manpower allocation and ensure efficiency of work by:
(i)    monitoring booking of time
(ii)    evaluate and approve hour estimates
(iii)    monitor actual hours against ASR estimates
—    Supervision, support, mentoring and coaching of staff supporting project/aircraft.
—    Sound communication including both written and verbal with all levels both internally, and externally with customers/stakeholders.

Minimum Requirements

—    Minimum Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer qualification.
—    Experience working in an aircraft maintenance facility performing system maintenance and modifications.
—    Demonstrated understanding of Aviation regulatory requirements for Aircraft systems maintenance.
—    People Management skills in an operational environment.
—    Experience in a Customer Focused Work environment with multiple priorities and project deadlines.
—    Computer Literate at basic level in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Systems.
—    Sound English language skills.
—    Good communication skills.
—    Common courtesy and customer orientation.
—    Ability to work flexible schedules and in various weather conditions as well as meeting minimum physical requirements of the job, and readily being willing and able to deploy as required.

Work Environment

The employee must be able to work in both a heavy maintenance environment and in upscale customer areas. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate with occasional high volume when aircrafts arrive/depart. The employee is frequently exposed to vibration. Occasional fuel fumes may permeate the workplace. Employee must be willing and able to work in all types of weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The Hangar environment may be extreme hot and cold during certain seasons of the year.
