Aviation Support Workshop Manager

Position Summary
This position, reporting directly to the Senior Director Components & Avionics Services and will be responsible for the operational management of the Components & Avionics business in Cairns consisting of a Components & Avionics workshop, repair and overhaul programs and customer and OEM / Partner relations.
The Aviation Support Workshop Manager will compile annual budgets and will be responsible for the business P & L ensuring financial targets are met. Additionally, this position will lead a team of technicians, and support staff while fostering a culture of engagement and customer focus.
The Aviation Support Workshop Manager will ensure the Senior Director Components & Avionics Services is fully briefed on any relevant issues or requirements related to operations. Strong leadership and co-ordination are an important requirement of this position and will require Jet Aviation Values & Service Standards are understood, promoted and realized within the business. The Aviation Workshop Manager will champion Continuous Improvement & look for ways to optimize business cost, improve Customer experience and ensure excellence is delivered to Jet Aviation internal and external customers.
Main Responsibilities
- Ensure operations in the facility is conducted in compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Provide responses to audit findings of internal and external audits and take definitive action to develop and implement remedial and corrective actions against audit findings and corrective action requests.
- Engage with stakeholders to ensure a high level of ownership and optimize compliance.
- Provide input into the development and revisions of company procedures for continuous improvement of Component Services.
- Actively participate, comply with and promote WHS and Environment programs and Aviation Safety Management System.
- Manage daily operations across all support workshops (NDT, Composites, Paint, Avionics).
- Operational management of the workshop teams, providing clear directions and decisions for activities aligned financial, regulatory and compliance targets, in line with priorities set by VP MRO Operations Australia.
- Daily performance management of workshop employees providing coaching, regular feedback, guidance and support; also provide positive reinforcement at any opportunity.
- Management of employee training and development. While managing of employee behaviour, including raising file notes and other reporting to HR.
- Implement workplace-based practices and protocols which assist Components to become supplier and employer of choice in the marketplaces in which Components operates.
- Provide accurate monthly performance forecasts.
Main Responsibilities Cont:
- Accountable for the most cost-effective allocation of resources available to ensure agreed timelines of maintenance and projects to meet Components financial targets and Customers expectations.
- Weekly review of planning schedule to ensure schedules will deliver Components financial targets and meet customer expectations.
- Review of daily reporting on estimated versus actual project hours to proactively prevent project over runs.
- Accountable for the approval / oversight of Components employee Leave, monitoring Training requirements considering public and school holidays peaks to minimise impact on planned work to ensure on time lime delivery of projects and line maintenance.
- Ensure the spare parts and material are ordered at the correct timeframes to meet project deadlines whilst maintaining appropriate inventory levels within Components.
- Ensure that job packs for projects are reviewed to ensure they are complete, reflect customer requirements and comply with regulatory requirements.
- Ensure that procedures are followed for ASRs with work reviewed for accuracy, completion and are signed by customer prior to commencement of additional work.
- Review preliminary invoices and commercial reports for accuracy and completion to ensure accurate invoicing to customers and financial reporting for Components.
- Provide quotations and estimates aligned to Components Business Unit Pricing Structure for maintenance and modifications within allowable limits.
- Ensure compliance with all CASA, Part 145, and OEM regulatory requirements.
- Ensure customer accounts are maintained within commercial terms.
- Represent Jet Aviation as one company internally and externally with industry groups, regulatory bodies and the General Dynamics network.
- Foster a culture of unwavering customer focus, always aiming to exceed customer expectations.

Minimum Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent
- Excellent English language skills
- Good communication skills
- Common courtesy and customer orientation
- Ability to work flexible schedules and in various weather conditions as well as meeting minimum physical requirements of the job

- Five years’ related experience as a commercial driver strongly preferred
