Your Opportunity
As an Aircraft Trade Assistant you will be responsible for providing assistance and support to the Aircraft Maintenance Engineers (AME), Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineers (LAME) and Supervisors at the Cairns Jet Aviation Facility, as required.
Your Responsibilities
- Assist AME, LAME’s and Supervisors as requested on: job tasks and projects, management and removal (un-issue) of spares during projects
- Participate in weekly checks and drive a high standard of housekeeping in the Cairns facility
- Promote and drive Jet Aviation Values and Compliance policy and procedure to support the desired company and facility culture
- Contribute towards the identification and reporting of all OHS issues through Jet Aviation Safety Management System (JetSafe)
- Demonstrated, or ability to rapidly develop, understanding of various tool types and functions.
- Ensure all work orders and documentation are created and updated to meet required standards
- Provide input into the development and revisions of company procedures for continuous improvement of Jet Aviation Cairns MRO
- Actively support, participate, comply with, and promote Jet Aviation WHS and Environment programs
- Promote a culture of unwavering Customer focus, always aiming to exceed Customer expectations
- Remain current with approved Company Procedures, in particular Policy and Procedures, WHS/Environment Programs of Jet Aviation including Cairns MRO Local procedure instructions (LPI)
- Undertake reasonable duties as assigned by the Supervisor which are appropriate for the qualification and skill level
What will Help you to Succeed
- Approved aviation trade assistant course desirable
- Trade background with mechanical aptitude preferable.
- Ability to work in a high-pressure environment.
- Demonstrated, or ability to rapidly develop, understanding of OHS/WHS and various regulations as it relates to the aviation industry.
- Demonstrated, or ability to rapidly develop, understanding of various tool types and functions.
- Computer literate in enterprise resources planning (ERP) systems and Microsoft Outlook and Excel.

Work Environment
The employee must be able to work in both a heavy maintenance environment and in upscale customer areas. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate with occasional high volume when aircrafts arrive/depart. The employee is frequently exposed to vibration. Occasional fuel fumes may permeate the workplace. Employee must be willing and able to work in all types of weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The Hangar environment may be extreme hot and cold during certain seasons of the year.
